Here’s Kay’s bill to shorten election poll hours.

HB 6 changes the polling hours from 6 am to 8 pm to 7 am to 7 pm.

Ansardi’s bill, HB 248, essentially the same, is a bit more detailed, stating that the registrars’ office hours are to be from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm and that early voting time, in terms of days, be extended.

Shortening voting hours will only reduce voter turn-out. Now why would anyone want to do that?

Shortening the hours also will reduce commissioner burnout. Besides, who says one *has* to vote on Election Day? One can vote early… and often. ;->
